Stories of Success

Real stories. Real transition. Real impact.

At The Tactical Reintegration Project TRP, veterans transitioning from active duty and Gold Star family members find renewed connection and purpose through community, and a shared mission. These success stories show how TRP programs support military reintegration, strengthen resilience, and build lasting connections beyond the uniform. This is what life after service can look like. Grounded. Supported. Moving forward together.

Earning my scuba certification with the TRP was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. The peace and calm one gets just breathing underwater was an amazing experience, and I recommend it to anyone looking to find inner peace.”
I came in quiet and a little guarded. By the end of the weekend I was laughing harder than I had in years. TRP does not fix you. It gives you the environment and the people to start fixing yourself.”
My son and I hadn’t spent much time together since covid, and with work piling on our relationship was strained. The TRP enabled us to reconnect on a week long liveaboard dive trip. An experience we are so grateful for and will never forget.”
Skiing with TRP was the first time in a long time I felt a part of something. We were cruising, laughing the whole day, and pushing each other. It felt like being back with my unit.”
The course that the TRP put together for us was and is worthwhile and I would highly recommend it. The TRP provided valuable information and lessons and you engaged all participants. This should be the foundation of all dive teams. The guys had a great experience, and a great time as well. The lessons learned in the methodology of the instruction will be the foundation of our dive team going forward. And I hope we can live up to your expectations. Thank you for everything again.”
The team had a great week of Public Safety Dive training in the Greater Boston region. Thanks to The TRP for putting this program together! The TRP’s commitment to Veterans is unparalleled.”
I am so proud of the work The TRP is doing! Their Monthly Community Gatherings and various activities/ events bring our community together: Veterans, Service Members, Gold Star Families, and the civilians who support them. Thank you for making America feel like Home.”
I am proud of my path as a diver. It has enhanced my life in ways I didn’t know were possible. I feel accepted by the dive community, and I’ve made a deeper connection with friends and even members of my own family. In me, I have reached new heights of strength, ability and accomplishment. And I have found a connection with nature, I didn’t know it was missing in my life. All of this was made possible by The TRP, a small community of Veterans who are divers. The TRP is the bedrock to which all my accomplishments were built on.”
I joined The Tactical Reintegration Project (TRP) in 2021 with the goal of becoming a professional scuba diver. With a degree in Marine Science, pursuing additional dive training felt like the natural next step. With the help of The TRP, I improved my diving skills and gained valuable experience underwater, but what I truly found at The TRP was an understanding and welcoming community. My father was killed in Iraq when I was nine years old. As a Gold Star family member, I’ve often felt caught between two worlds — not fully military, yet not fully civilian either. That in-between space can feel isolating and is not understood by many people. Through shared experiences, community events, and scuba diving, The TRP creates an environment where individuals can connect over common interests, build meaningful relationships, and continue growing in their personal journeys. It’s not just about diving — it’s about belonging. I later spent several years volunteering on the executive board, which gave me the opportunity to give back to the community that has supported my family throughout my entire life. Being able to serve alongside people who understand my family’s unique situation has been one of the most meaningful parts of my journey. What started as a step toward professional development became something far more significant. The TRP has given me a place where I didn’t have to explain my story to be understood — a place where I could grow, contribute, and move forward with confidence.”
